LAUREN VAN KEMPEN

Originally from Seattle, Lauren Van Kempen holds a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance and Cello Performance. Based in France since 2010, Lauren is a multifaceted artist performing opera, musical theater and chamber music.

A versatile musician and actress, Lauren is able to perform a wide range of repertoire from the Golden Age of musical theater to Stravinsky. She has enchanted audience members with her sparkling soprano voice, scenic generosity and comedic range since her arrival in France.

​

Lauren is currently starring as the Lady of the Lake in the French adaptation of Spamalot the Monty Python musical directed by Pierre-Francois (PEF) Laval at Theatre du Paris through February 10 2024.

​

Lauren has created and produced several shows including her one-woman show “The Cabaret”, her 1940s inspired vocal trio “Les Jingle Belles” and concert series Broadway Melody which introduces the American songbook to French audiences. She regularly collaborates with pianist and musical director Mathieu Serradell. In 2022 she launched her performing arts company, Atlantic Theatre Arts with Adam Alexander.

In addition to her performing career Lauren teaches choral and musical theater masterclasses in the United States and Europe. Lauren is currently a vocal coach at Disneyland Paris.

Credits include Wonderful Town (Violet) at Opera de Toulon, Kiss Me Kate (Lois cover) at the Théâtre du Châtelet and Théâtres de la Villes de Luxembourg, and The King and I at Theatre du Chatelet.  Lauren is a recurring soloist at Eglise Val-de-Grace as well as the soprano soloist for the first edition of the Opera dans tous ses etats  in Brittany. Lauren will be performing the role of Mimi in a French adaptation of La Boheme for the Cie Mobilo-Lyricus.
